Freida AndersonBRING BACK THE APRON!

WHAT’S OLD IS NEW AGAIN APRON CHALLENGE

Donate Your Apron to a Good Cause

Do you suffer from the Donna Reed syndrome – the urge to put your feet into pumps, add a string of pearls, attach an apron to your waist and swish around your kitchen deftly preparing tuna noodle casserole? OK, OK, maybe that’s not really you, but you may have a fondness for those old faithfuls - aprons - the perfect fashion accessory! We all need to band together and bring back the apron! Join our crusade by making an apron of any kind and don’t be afraid to get wildly creative. Make your own apron from scratch or decorate a purchased one. Use any material or technique. They can be totally practical (boring) or whimsy (exciting), can be made for a man, woman, or child, or just for the fun of it. The winner of this prestigious award will be determined by viewer’s choice and will receive a special prize. Aprons will be displayed at the NCQS11 Symposium while a silent auction takes place.

You can join us in our endeavor to BRING BACK THE APRON by donating your creation when you check-in at registration on Thursday, June 2nd or anytime at the quilt show entrance desk. An entry form that includes your name, address, title of apron and a brief description is available online as a pdf.

(Donna Reed would be so proud!)

All proceeds will be donated to the Interfaith Food Shuttle.
