This is a workshop for those who feel “you can’t design a thing yourself”. The basic technique of “sew and flip” on a freezer paper foundation will be covered. This method produces the most accurate results, and is template free! Students will design one block on graph paper. Several methods will be shown to transfer the design to freezer paper, which will serve as the master pattern and foundation. Discussion of color placement, and all necessary sewing techniques will be covered. This technique will give you a ‘surprise design,’ many different ones at that. Hopefully we can complete four blocks during class to play with arrangements. There will be a handout sheet with several ‘suggested blocks’ to help you if you’re not feeling brave.
