General Workshop Information:

This guild year we have four speakers with eight workshops scheduled.

Registration for workshops will be announced in the guild newsletter, as it becomes available. The cost for workshops for guild members is $50 and non-guild members is $60. ***Plus any additional class fees that may apply to a particular class.

Guild members will have priority to register for all guild workshops but all workshops are open to anyone who wishes to participate as space allows.

Our goal is to have a full class each time, as we strive to bring nationally known teachers to Raleigh and Capital Quilters Guild!

Registration is first come, first served so be sure to get your registration form and check mailed promptly when the form becomes available to insure your spot in a class!

There will be opportunities to sign-up at the guild meeting, if there is space available. At the meeting, we can accept cash, check or charge. If mailing, only a check.

Refund Policy: Full refund will be made if requested 30 days prior to the workshop. Without 30 days notice, you will only receive a full refund if space can be filled from the waiting list. If not, you will receive a credit for a future workshop.

Fire and Ice Bargello-Style Wall Hanging – This is one of my most popular patterns. Combine your favorite black and white fabrics with a trio of brights to make a bargello-style wall hanging that pops with color! You will create “strata” of 2″ strips and then cut them into varying widths to create your design. The finished size is 34″ w x 39″ h.

Basic sewing skills and a sewing machine in good working order necessary. Confident beginner to advanced level.

Saturday, Sept 21, 2019- “Improv Puzzle Blocks”

Improv Puzzle Blocks – Create Improv Log Cabin blocks in a variety of sizes and put them together into a unique composition–like a jigsaw puzzle. There’s no measuring or precise cutting and each quilt will be unique. We will discuss color choices and using simple design principles to create an original dynamic composition.

Watercolor pencils blend with water to create more colors and effects. Some free motion quilting experience would be helpful.

You will get a complete kit including design, fill motifs, colored pencils, sealing medium, batting, and fabrics for the top, backing and practice. This class will give you lots of ideas for quilting designs and a whole new look for your quilts.

Fills, Feathers, and Fancies: Expanding your quilting vocabulary
