Create a symbolic portrait of a famous woman of your choice. Ever wanted to create a tribute to a woman you admire, but worried that your portrait won't do them justice? Let's use symbols: her favorite flower, favorite animal or piece of her jewelry. What's her favorite color? Did she quote something repeatedly? Susanne will help you create a symbolic portrait to honor your special person. HERstory HERportrait Supplies.doc

Susanne Miller Jones is a fiber artist who started as a traditional quilter. She was surprised and delighted to discover her inner artist when she started creating art quilts.
She made her first art quilt, Seeing Our Stories Clearly with 20/20 Hindsight in 2013 for the Quilt Alliance TWENTY contest. She was awarded a Judge’s Choice from Marianne Fons. In 2014, Resurrection, made for the Quilt Alliance “Inspired By” contest, won a Member’s Choice. Art quilting became her passion.
Her art work is highly textured and very realistic. She uses a wide variety of fabrics in order to create the textural matches. She is the curator of three exhibits of art quilts and author of books by the same names - Fly Me to the Moon, HERstory: A Celebration of Strong Women and OURstory: Human Rights Stories in Fabric
